IHT in sport: adaptation and athlete preparation

Т. Н. Цыганова
Лечебная физкультура и спортивная медицина. 2015; 6(132): 47–55

IHT in sport is discussed in a historical review of athlete preparation. The publication considers normobaric training, altitude adaptation and differences in individual responses to reduced oxygen.

IHT in sport: study design

The conclusions draw on cited research rather than a new athlete sample following one unified protocol. The review examines hypoxic stimuli alongside ordinary training. Consequently, the intensity, duration, recovery phases and training background of individual studies remain essential to understanding their findings.

Reported findings

The authors discuss exercise tolerance and possible adaptive responses. These observations do not establish that every course of IHT reproduces altitude preparation or necessarily improves competition performance. Physiological adaptation, training capacity and a result achieved during an event are related but distinct outcomes.

IHT in sport: practical interpretation

Overall, the publication provides historical context for evaluating sports research. Interpretation should account for baseline fitness, health and exposure characteristics rather than assume a single response. IHT is not renamed IHHT, OXYTERRA RS was not tested, and unrelated neighbouring articles in the original PDF are not part of this account.

Context and further reading

For context, the links below explain OXYTERRA RS equipment, the distinction between oxygen-training protocols and supervised applications. Related research helps compare populations and outcomes rather than treating different studies as interchangeable evidence.
